How to complete The Narzissenkreuz Adventure in Genshin Impact

Get through the confusing library loop.

Welcome to Destructoid’s walkthrough for the Narzissenkreuz Adventure, a World Quest in Genshin Impact.

The Narzissenkreuz Adventure Walkthrough

Start the quest by heading to Chemin de L’Espoir in Fontaine. Your attention will be drawn to a small Oceanid named Ann, who will ask you for help. Swim down to the northwest, following the ravine to reach a large underwater room named Annapausis.

You’ll find a Hydro Finch Mimic being attacked by a Tainted Water Droplet. Follow it into a building and help it defeat the Water Droplet.

After some dialogue, much of the water in the room will drain, and you’ll be asked to help find Al. Al is across the room, but there’s a Bubble Formation that fires Hydro projectiles at you if you get too close. Hitting the switch nearby will activate some walls that you can use to block the projectiles. Or, if you’re quick enough, you can ignore the Bubble Formation altogether and just dash straight across.

After defeating another Tainted Water Droplet, talk to Al and head up the stairs to meet Jak. You will be tasked with destroying three Bubble Formations.

Destroy the Bubble Formations

Start by hitting the switch nearby to spawn a path up to another switch. Hit this switch to spawn some platforms around the nearest Bubble Formation. Head down towards it (taking care not to get hit) and interact with the Bubble Formation to disable it. Once you do, defeat a Water Droplet and enter a water portal to be transported up to a ledge.

There’s a series of switches that you can hit to spawn more walls. It helps to have a Bow character here to help you hit them from afar. Follow the path, using the walls to block the water projectiles. Interact with the Bubble Formation, fight the Water Droplet that spawns, and take the next water portal.

There are more switches here and another Bubble Formation. Repeat the process, using a Bow character to hit the switches from a distance. After fighting the last Water Droplet, you’ll meet Colonel Kate.

Break the three seals and enter the tower

Head up the stairs to meet Mori and defeat them in combat. Then, enter the large bubble to your left. This will take you into the layer of water in the ceiling, where you are told to break three seals in order to unlock a chest. Activating the nearby teleporter is helpful in case you fall out of the water.

In order to break these seals, you need to guide three bubbles into their respective rings. The first seal is right in front of you. This one can be solved by hitting a switch in a nearby arch.

Swim north to find the next seal in some ruins. Defeat the enemies here by using the ability from a nearby Blubberbeast. Once they are gone, the nearby switch will unlock. Hit it to break this seal.

Swim southeast to find the last seal, again in some ruins. The switch for this one is locked in an adjacent room. Swim underneath and enter through a hole in the floor. Activate the switch to break the final seal.

Claim the chest, swim down, and fall through the air to rejoin the team. Don’t worry, you won’t take fall damage!

Get through the dialogue and enter the tower. There are more Tainted Water Droplet enemies that you’ll have to fight through. Enter the large water bubble to be transported to the top of the tower. Interact with the doorway to enter the library.

Escape the looping library

There’s a water urn in front of you surrounded by three water orbs. Pick up the three orbs to generate a Hydro ring around yourself. Stand next to the water urn to activate it and unlock the door. Enter the water portal to proceed.

There’s a switch to your right guarded by a hermit crab. Activate it and enter the water portal. Continue to the right and defeat the seahorse. Claim the chest to unlock the way forward and enter the next water portal.

The next room has a Bubble Formation that shoots projectiles at you. Use the pillars in the room to block the projectiles. Make your way towards the Bubble Formation and interact with it to disable it. Continue forward, take the elevator up, and claim the chest to receive a green feather accessory.

You’ll find yourself back in the library. This time, there are two urns locking the way forward. Pick up the three water orbs and stand between them to activate both. Now, you can unlock the barrier around the holy sword using the green feather accessory.

There are a few changes to your surroundings, but the path forward is the same. Continue forward until you get to the elevator. Take the elevator up, but do not enter the library. Instead, turn around and take the elevator back down. (If you’ve already entered the library, just make another loop around.) Continue backtracking until you see a large blue door that wasn’t there before.

Enter the door. You will find yourself back in the library. Make your way forward until you see the fountain with the holy sword. Unlock it again and claim the sword. You should now have two wooden swords in your inventory. Backtrack west until you reach the library again. Interact with the glowing spot to open the path downwards. Jump down to enter a portal and escape the loop.

Defeat Narcissus and meet Mary-Ann

You’ll find yourself in an arena with an Oceanid. Its attacks differ from the Oceanid boss in the overworld. When prompted, stand on the glowing blue spot to raise yourself up and avoid certain attacks. After defeating it, claim the chest to unlock the door and move forward. Interact with the glowing spots in the room to enter the real Annapausis.

From here, just follow Mary-Ann, feeding the dog when prompted. Once you ride the water current out of Annapausis, you’ve finished The Narzissenkreuz Adventure! You can re-enter the library to explore, but the real Annapausis is inaccessible after the quest’s completion.
