Cash/money (also known as COAM) can be hard to come by in Armored Core 6. To make matters worse, if you do poorly during a mission the more the expenses will tick up, ultimately earning you less loot. Here’s how to circumvent that snafu, and earn the most money possible to spend on parts and upgrades.
Grind out missions
It sounds so simple! But just by playing the campaign, you’ll earn a ton of cash. Generally, the amount of income is directly proportional to the amount of effort you may need to put into a mission or boss battle, but the order in which you progress through them doesn’t matter when it comes to piling up money.
About that! There are some provisos you’ll need to take into account.
Repeat missions for better ranks and bonuses
Going back through missions will not only allow you to locate new collectibles that you may not have found before: but you can also unlock new bonuses, and earn more money by getting a better ranking.
If you completely screwed up on a particular mission and earned a poor rating, consider replaying it to get a quick and easy cash injection. Once you get the hang of the game repeating missions is one of the easiest ways to make money, as you can go back through earlier (easier) missions with newfound knowledge and loadouts to clean up.
Slam all the arena (CPU battle) missions you can
In Chapter 2, you’ll unlock the ability to fight enemies in the arena. This is completely separate from the PVP portion of the game; where players can battle enemies in a boss rush format. After queuing up for an arena fight you’ll be transported instantly into a literal arena, where you’ll need to take down an enemy AC/mech.
Beyond the OS Chips you’ll unlock from completing arena bouts, you’ll also earn cash for wins. Note that spamming early arena fights (including F/E ranks) is a painless way to get cash when you’re just starting out. Keep going until you can’t take on the next enemy (or you have no other arena fights left to finish: in which case you’ll need to progress with the campaign to unlock more), then stop.
Sell parts you don’t need
Armored Core 6 rarely provides parts that are straight upgrades in every way compared directly to other parts. However, there are some parts/upgrades you may never use again. In those cases, you’ll want to sell them to the shop (found in the garage menu) to come up with some extra cash.
I generally hoard my parts just in case I need them, but selling a part or two every now and then to afford the last boost you need for a key upgrade is totally fine.
