TGIF Open Thread!

Hello, Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Friday! Chrono is out there having a good time, so I'm here to give you, Dtoid survivors, your weekly dose of TGIF!

This week draaaagged. And it's not even because of the Mortal Kombat 1 reveal we'll have later today - leaks say we're getting Reptile, Reiko, and General Shao, and while I'm curious to see those folks, my heart longs for my demon girl, Ashrah 🥺 But yeah, I'm happy it's the weekend.

I've watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (so lovely to watch a good MCU film again!) and Nimona (glad Disney refused this project; they don't deserve this queerdelicious story). I've also - finally - continued to watch The Boys. MK 1 might have something to do with that, though I still don't like the guests and don't see myself playing with Homelander. I'll like to perform the Fatalities on him, though. I'm in the middle of E7, so I should finish S1 today or tomorrow. Queen Maeve is my favourite so far - I mean, Irish and lesbian/bi, what's not to like?

I've also finished the audiobook of The Dutch House. It's very much a character-driven story without much of a plot, and if I were reading it, perhaps I wouldn't have liked it so much. But man, Tom Hanks' narration makes the whole thing so much more enjoyable!

Today is the day I'll officially start working with the cover artist for my book. Excited! Aside from that, not much planned for the weekend.
