A hearty food for a hearty adventure
The sheer variety of food within Tears of the Kingdom is enough to make your head spin. However, every piece of food does something different when cooked. From foods that will shield you from the cold to foods that replenish stamina, you’ll need to learn to cook if you want to survive the many challenges Hyrule throws at you.
Luckily, there’s a handful of foods that will increase your maximum amount of hearts temporarily. A prime example is the Hearty Bass in Tears of the Kingdom.
Best places to fish for Hearty Bass in Tears of the Kingdom
Hearty Bass can be found in colder climates in Hyrule, though there are two spots with plentiful fish that always respawn. These two locations are the West Hebra Sky Archepelligo and the West Necluda Sky Archepelligo.
These two sky islands house ponds with a decent amount of Hearty Bass, so you’ll always have a solid amount of fish for when you want to cook. Getting to them is going to be the tricky part.
How to find Hearty Bass in the West Herba Sky Archepelligo
The fastest way to get to the West Hebra Sky Archepelligo is by finding the Ijo-o Shrine. The shrine is located on the large island to the west of the Temple of Wind. If you don’t have the shrine unlocked, it’s as simple as gliding to it from the Rosporo Pass Skyview Tower. Check the island close to it, and use the floating platform you can raise up.
Once you’re on the island, head to the two pools on the north of the island. If you sneak here, you can grab some Fairies at this spot. From here, jump in and grab the Bass, or shoot them with arrows if you have some. There are also multiple chests in both ponds you can open for some items. The Islands coordinates are (-3845, 2837, 0714).
How to find Hearty Bass in the West Necluda Sky Archepelligo
The second Hearty Bass fishing spot is by the West Necluda Sky Archepelligo. It’s directly above Breman Peak, and it’s directly west of the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower. There are a few routes you can take to make it to this island. For one, you could head to the Kumamyan Shrine, which sits to the east of both the island and the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower. From here, you can build a contraption like a hoverbike, and fly over to the island. However, if you have the Zora Armor, you can also take a more direct route.
There’s a waterfall connected to the island, and while it doesn’t reach the bottom, taking the Skyview Tower and connecting with the waterfall will send Link to the top. Be sure to sneak around here as well, as Fairies also appear on this island. From here you can collect more than just Hearty Bass, as Hot-Footed Frogs and Stambulbs also grow here. This island’s coordinates are: (2157, -2612, 1262).
