Any effective party in Baldur’s Gate 3 needs a strong, offensive member that hits hard and can take a beating as well. This makes it a good idea to throw in a Barbarian as they’re highly adept with melee weapons and close-up combat. Level up your Barbarian enough, and you’ll be able to choose a Feat for it. There are several available, so it can get confusing.

If you’re building a Barbarian, pay attention to these Feats in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Best Feats for Barbarians in Baldur’s Gate 3

When your Barbarian reaches level 4, you’ll have the chance to choose your first Feat. When picking your Feat, think about what role your Barbarian plays in your party, and how you plan to use them both during and outside of combat.

The best Barbarian builds will focus on allowing your character to strike hard and often. Aim for Feats that boost the damage you can deal, or grant you extra moves per turn. The easiest way to improve your attacks is to grab the Ability Improvement Feat which gives you two points that can be allocated to an Ability. Throw them on your Strength Ability, and you’ll be a terror on the battlefield.

You also need to be concerned about your Barbarian’s resilience. The Tough Feat is good for this, as it increases your hit point maximum by two for every level you have gained. Baldur’s Gate 3 is a tactical game, but the best-laid plans can be ruined by a bad luck streak. With the Savage Attacker Feat, you’ll roll your damage dice twice, and the highest results will be used. If you’re someone who normally has rotten luck, this may be the Feat you need.

The three Feats below are a good combination, as your Barbarian will be armored up, good with weapons, and ready to protect their allies.

Heavily Armored

Your Barbarian will be useless if they are knocked out by the first hit that comes their way. This is why you should consider the Heavily Armored Feat, which gives you increased Proficiency with Heavy Armor, in addition to raising your Strength by one.

Sentinel

Your Barbarian is going to be able to do damage, and with Sentinel, you’ll have more opportunities to pummel your foes. The Sentinel Feat allows you to react by weapon attacking an enemy if they are within melee range when they attack an ally. Keep your most prized team members next to your Barbarian with the Sentinel Feat and you’ll have a personal bodyguard.

Great Weapon Master

To make the most of your Barbarian, arm them with good weapons. You can further boost your Barbarian’s lethality by grabbing the Great Weapon Master Feat. When you land a critical hit or kill a target with a melee weapon attack, you’ll have the chance to dish out another melee weapon attack in the same turn. Your enemies will never see it coming.

If you’re interested in having a Barbarian on your team, consider adding Karlach. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a Class that’s a good attacker, Fighters may also be a good fit for you.
