Good luck with your warps
Once you’ve completed the tutorial, chances are you will be wondering how to reroll in Honkai: Star Rail for a chance at a five-star character. Unfortunately, there is no built-in mechanic to do so, nor is there an option to wipe your existing game data or start over from scratch.
In order to reroll you will need to create a new account with a separate e-mail address and play through the entire tutorial again to get to the point of the game in which you can reroll. If you planned to use your same Genshin Impact account, you will have to stick with your first pulls.
Honkai Star Rail reroll guide
- Log out via the power icon in the bottom right.
- Create a brand new HoYoverse account using a separate e-mail address.
- Play through the entire tutorial again to unlock warping. (Takes about 30 minutes)
- Acquire your first 30 free Star Rail Passes from the mailbox.
- Cross your fingers and use your accumulated Star Rail Passes on the ‘Departure War’ banner!
- If you are unhappy with your pulls, simply start over at step one.
Make use of the Departure War banner
While the ‘Departure War’ starter banner is definitely your best option for your first 50 warps, it still only has a 0.6% base chance of pulling a five-star character from the many playable characters. What makes the ‘Departure War’ banner so great is that it guarantees a five-star character within 50 warps.
The regular banner that utilizes free passes has a 0.3%-0.6% base chance of pulling a five-star character but no guarantee even after 50 warps.
The special event banners require Star Rail Special Passes and therefore cannot be pulled using your free passes. Even though this is the only way to obtain special characters like Seele, it does not affect rerolling.
Should you reroll in Honkai: Star Rail
Probably not. Given the low chance of a five-star character as well as the amount of time required to reach the point at which you unlock warps, it’s probably more advantageous to simply continue playing the game and progress toward your next warps.
It could take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours to get your guaranteed five-star character. Keep in mind you will also have to create a brand new account each time as well, which adds even more time.
