Control the spectral horde of Nighthaunt later this year.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Rui new faction and release date

During the gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show, Frontier Developments released a new Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin trailer showing off the third faction: Nighthaunt. The spectral horde joins the Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz has confirmed factions in the RTS. The fourth and final faction has yet to be revealed.

Alongside the reveal of the new faction, we also got a release date. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will release on November 17 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Fellow Age of Sigmar fans will have some options when purchasing an Edition of the game. The Standard Edition will include the game for $59.99, while the Deluxe Edition will also include four Alternate Hero Skins and two Profile Customization Sets for $69.99. Those devoted to the Order can also splurge for the Ultimate Edition at $74.99 which includes everything the Deluxe Edition does plus the first to Hero DLC that will release post-launch. Pre-orders of both the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions also get the RTS three days early on November 14.

Conquer Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin in Conquest Mode

We also got a first look at an all-new game mode in the trailer: Conquest Mode. The single-player challenge mode allows players to face off against a series of repeatable combat scenarios. These scenarios are procedurally generated challenges for 1v1 skirmishes that result in a final battle. Along the way, rule-breaking twists will change the terms of combat including reduced vision, faster movement speeds, or strict time limits. Progressing through the mode will earn you a high score, as well as the seed number for that challenge. Sharing that specific Conquest Mode challenge seed number will allow other players to try to beat your high score.

Multiplayer options will also be available at launch with both 1v1 and 2v2 cross-platform competitive multiplayer.

The new Nighthaunt faction will be the antagonist in the campaign as well as playable in Conquest Mode and multiplayer. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will release on November 17 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
