Does Baldur’s Gate 3 feature crossplay?

Baldur's Gate 3 crossplay

For players who love multiplayer, Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay between PS5 and PC would be fantastic. Those playing the game on PC could teach those on console the game’s systems and battle mechanics, especially since they got a head start.

Co-op in the latest Baldur’s Gate is indeed a great feature. However, is Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay actually possible?

Can you play Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay together?

As of the time of writing, there’s no Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay whatsoever between PC and consoles. The feature hasn’t been announced by Larian Studios and it hasn’t been implemented in past projects by the developer like Divinity: Original Sin 2It doesn’t seem to be a priority right now, but crossplay may come in a future update.

Another wrinkle to add to this is that crossplay is mentioned on the account screen on the Larian website. It says, “A Larian Studios account gives you access to our online services, such as Cross Save and Cross Play, as well as exclusive content.” Interesting. It’s possible an announcement could come as the game launches on other platforms. We’ll update this guide if we hear more.

Is it possible to transfer your save file over to PS5?

On the other hand, there’s a silver lining. Similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Huntyou can actually transfer your save progress between the PC and PS5 versions of Baldur’s Gate 3. Simply create an account on Larian’s website, and then sign in with your details in-game or in the launcher.

To do that, go to Options and make sure that “Cross save” has a tick by it. It’s under “Save Options.” You can toggle other options while you’re here, especially if you want a more “PG” experience. You may also alter the maximum number of auto-saves and quicksaves in Baldur’s Gate 3 from 25 to 50.
