Five huge games still coming out in 2022

It’s going to be a packed Holiday season

Welcome back! It’s another Tuesday, which means tonight there will be a new episode of Spot Dodge: A Live Nintendo Podcast exclusively on Destructoid. Topics: The crew discusses the major titles that are still slated to release this year. The team also reacts to Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards nominations (Xenoblade didn’t get snubbed!?), Sega wants Sonic’s universe to be more “meaningful and connected”, and so much more!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are launching later this week on November 18 — introducing a brand new open-world direction for the series. However, December is when things really start heating up. On December 2 we’ll see the launch of XCOM developer’s Marvel’s Midnight SunsA Marvel tactics game featuring a card system and dynamic relationships with popular Marvel characters. On that same day, the long-awaited spiritual successor to Dead Space drops. Glen Schofield and Striking Distance Studios will surely melt our faces off with Callisto Protocol.

Later in the month, Rick & Morty creator Justin Roiland’s new project High on Life will launch straight into Xbox Game Pass. High on Life is surely Squanch Games’ most ambitious project yet, and looks to be shaping up nicely. Lastly, the iconic Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is launching that same day on all platforms. A must-play classic for any FFVII fan, now with a facelift!

EDIT: Wow, I completely spaced Evil West, which looks like an awesome traditional action title. Another game worth looking into before the year ends. Make that six games!

Our lovely cast from around the web: Brett Medlock (me) and Mary Stowe from Destructoid, John Friscia from The Escapist, Greg Bargas from PC Invasion, and Brett Larsen, our extra special guest. Behind the scenes, Gamurs’ Eric Weichhart is live-editing this week’s show.
