TGIF Open Thread!

Good morning Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Fridaaay! Even more wonderful for me cause I took Thursday and Friday off of work for Summer Game Fest and Diablo 4 lol Don't shame me, I had time to use so I used it.

Last Friday, I told you all that I was going to my first Comic-Con and I did and it waaas ok. I didn't love it, didn't hate it. There was a lot of cool shit on sale and I only managed to pick up a few small things. I was more surprised by the shocking amount of anime everywhere. I knew it would be present but not taking up half if not more of the floor. There was decent at best cosplay which was a bummer because I was looking forward to seeing some better costumes out and about. We didn't go to a panel or anything because apparently we went on the day that nobody of interest was doing one. I believe it was the first Comic-Con in Phoenix since the pandemic so idk, maybe they had trouble setting it up better? Eh. It was cool to check it off the list and at least attend one but yeah, I'm not exactly looking forward to going to another one in the future. To be fair, I'm a boring nerd. I don't dress up, I don't get into character and get all crazy and animated. Maybe if I was more like that, I would have had a better time.

Summer Game Fest came and went and it wasn't bad at all. I wasn't blown away by anything but they had a lot of games I'm plenty excited for shown off so overall, I'm happy with it. Spider-Man 2 is looks fanfuckintastic and the big FF7 Rebirth release window trailer at the end were definitely the show stealers. Oh, and MK1...Don't worry Queen, I got you lol. The Prince of Persia game was a nice surprise and actually looks pretty damn good and stylish. Alan Wake 2 looking to bring some actual scares this time around. I can't help but get excited everytime I see more of Banishers and we had a pretty sweet guest appearence by the legend Nic Cage! Overall, a fun show. That said, Microsoft has their show this Sunday, and I would LOVE if I saw more of you participate in the comments on the front page! Lets make this a fun time! 

Diablo 4 is my new obsession and I honestly knew it would be. I saw a lot of concern about this game because of the mobile game but I was pretty confident Blizzard wouldn't mess this one up and would learn from their rocky D3 launch. Other then their unfortunate, ridiculously priced cosmetic microtransactions, the game is sooo very good and I'm loving every second of it. I'm a level 29 Druid and switching between mualing demons as a bear or tearing them to shreads as a werewolf in the middle of a hurricane is so very fun and satisfying. I honeslty can't wait to start new characters. Right after I post this, I'm jumping right back in.
