TGIF Open Thread!

Gooood morning Destructoid! It's the very first Friday of 2023! And it's really fucking weird to say that. 2022 flew by but the year has ended and I'm truly hoping this year is better for all of us...And it will be because together, we're going to make 2023 our bitch! Now put a smile on and enjoy your new year!

Work is going good. I panic cause new guy bs and all that but apparently I'm doing really good. So good in fact that I placed 1st in a little competition they had going for my department and all 5 regions. I won $300 worth of goodies from Amazon sooo that's cool! I got one of those nice rowing machines to add to my home gym! I'm excited for it to arrive haha.

This weekend will be nice and chiiillll. The gf will be out doing stuff with her sister I believe which leaves me at home to relax and get in some gaming. Fine by me! I love relaxing weekends. I'm currently playing Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and loving it so very much. It's far from perfect. Like, the story is utter nonsense at this point and the characters are so very unlikable which is normally a huge issue for me. The combat and overall gameplay is absolutely saving it though as it's one of the most fun action RPGs I've ever played. Their take on the job system is awesome and each job is just so fun to use. Being able to switch between two jobs on the fly is really awesome too. Loving the Sage, Ninja and Monk class right now.

The gf and I are incredibly excited for The Last of Us show to hit HBO soon. We'll absolutely be watching it when it first releases and we're both feeling pretty good about it. I'm sure as long as they don't absolutely fumble it, we're going to enjoy it quite a bit. I have faith as I like the work of those invovled.
