TGIF Open Thread!

Hello, Destructoid! It's that wonderful time of the week! It's Friday!

Today is my mother's birthday, and we'll have some tasty appetisers and cakes. Goodbye diet! It's her birthday, but I also bought me a gift: a wee bookcase :D The idea was to place the PS4 on the lower platform but turns out it's too small. But that's okay, I liked the arrangement! Had to leave some books off, but I selected those that I liked the most (also have so many books I want to donate or trade for other books). And yes, that lonely book is The Great Expectations which I'm currently reading x)

I finished listening to The Last True Poets of the Sea - it was good but man, it could've been much better! Now I'm halfway through Girl, Woman, Other - I think I wouldn't like this story as much if I wasn't listening to the audiobook version.

I also watched Raya and the Last Dragon and damn... what a disappointment. It's amazing how much exposition this film buried us with and still lacked worldbuilding. The pacing was so rushed and f**k that baby! And I can't believe the cowards failed to deliver the super obvious enemies-to-lovers relationship between Raya and Namaari 😪 This could've worked much better as a series.
